HEALTH CARE: ARLINGTON FREE CLINIC (AFC) PROVIDES FREE, COMPREHENSIVE HEALTHCARE, INCLUDING PRIMARY AND SPECIALTY CARE, ORAL HEALTHCARE, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, MEDICATIONS AND MORE, THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF VOLUNTEER HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, INTERPRETERS, AND OTHERS, TO APPROXIMATELY 1600 LOW-INCOME, UNINSURED ARLINGTON ADULTS WHO ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR HEALTH INSURANCE. AFC ACCEPTS NEW PATIENTS BY REFERRAL FROM VIRGINIA HOSPITAL CENTER, LOCAL SHELTERS, AND SAFETY-NET PARTNERS, AND BY SELF-REFERRAL FROM RESIDENTS IN THE COMMUNITY. ALL AFC PATIENTS LIVE IN ARLINGTON COUNTY AND HAVE INCOMES AT OR BELOW 200% OF THE FEDERAL POVERTY LEVEL. AFC'S IMPACT CASCADES BEYOND OUR PATIENTS AND INTO THEIR HOMES, WORKPLACES, NEIGHBORHOODS, AND CHILDREN'S SCHOOLS.
