ESTABLISHED PURSUANT TO FEDERAL AND STATE LEGISLATION, THE ORGANIZATION FUNCTIONS BOTH INDEPENDENTLY AND AS A PARTNER WITH THE WEST VIRGINIA CENTERS FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING AND THE WEST VIRGINIA DIVISION OF REHABILITATION SERVICES (WVDRS) TO ENSURE THAT WEST VIRGINIANS WITH DISABILITIES HAVE ACCESS TO COMMUNITY-BASED RESOURCES THAT PROMOTE PERSONAL CHOICE AND FACILITATE THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THEIR INDEPENDENT LIVING GOALS.

RON YOST PERSONAL ASSISTANCE SERVICE (RYPAS) PROGRAM - PROVIDES FINANCIAL REIMBURSEMENT FOR PERSONAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WITHIN THE PARAMETERS OF THE ESTABLISHING STATE LEGISLATION AND AS DIRECTED BY THE RYPAS BOARD.
WEST VIRGINIA STATEWIDE PLAN FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING - DEVELOP, MONITOR AND EVALUATE THE WV STATE PLAN IN COOPERATION WITH WEST VIRGINIA CENTERS FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING, COORDINATE ACTIVITIES WITHTHE WEST VIRGINIA DIVISION OF REHABILITATION SERVICES AND OTHER COUNCILS, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS THAT ADDRESS THE NEEDS FOR WET VIRGINIANS WITH DISABILITIES.
