VERSABILITY SUPPORTS PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES OF ALL AGES LEADING PRODUCTIVE, FULFILLING, AND SATISFYING LIVES. THROUGH THE PROVISION OF EMPLOYMENT, RESIDENTIAL, DAY SUPPORT AND EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES, VERSABILITY ASSISTS OVER 1,800 INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES EACH YEAR.

COMMUNITY LIVING - VERSABILITY PROVIDES RESIDENTIAL SERVICES IN EIGHT HOUSES IN HAMPTON, NEWPORT NEWS, AND YORK COUNTY THAT PROVIDE A SAFE, SUPPORTIVE HOME FOR ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES. STAFF PROVIDE DIRECT SUPPORT 24 HOURS A DAY, 365 DAYS A YEAR TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF THE HOME AND ASSIST WITH MEDICAL, PERSONAL, AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. VERSABILITY'S HOMES ARE UNIQUE IN THAT THEY OFFER A VARIETY OF INDIVIDUALIZED AND GROUP LEISURE AND RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR EVERY RESIDENT. NURSES, A DENTAL HYGIENIST, DIETITIANS, AND PHYSICAL/OCCUPATIONAL/SPEECH THERAPISTS ARE AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT SHORT AND LONG-TERM HEALTH NEEDS. IN ADDITION, AN ACTIVITIES INSTRUCTOR CREATES PROGRAMS AND EVENTS THAT ENCOURAGE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.
BUSINESS SERVICES - AS 63% OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN THE HAMPTON ROADS REGION ARE UNEMPLOYED, WE ARE AN ENTREPRENEURIAL ORGANIZATION WITH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS AS OUR CORNERSTONE. VERSABILITY PROVIDES A VARIETY OF EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS THAT OFFER A WEALTH OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. IN ADDITION TO THE PRIDE, DIGNITY, AND INDEPENDENCE THAT COMES WITH EARNING ONE'S OWN WAGES, WORK ALLOWS PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH AND WELL-BEING. JOBS INCLUDE SCANNING DOCUMENTS AND X-RAYS, MANUFACTURING AND PRODUCTION FOR COMPANIES SUCH AS NEWPORT NEWS SHIPBUILDING, STIHL, AND HOWMET AEROSPACE. OUR SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM HELPS REGIONAL BUSINESSES THRIVE WHILE CREATING JOBS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. AT NO COST TO THE EMPLOYER, SKILLED JOB COACHES PROVIDE JOB PLACEMENT, ON-SITE TAILORED TRAINING AND LONG-TERM SUPERVISION SO EACH INDIVIDUAL IS AN ASSET TO EMPLOYERS THROUGHOUT HAMPTON ROADS. WE UTILIZE JIGS THAT HELP PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES EXCEL IN WORK. VERSABILITY'S SKILLED WORKFORCE OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES MEETS BUSINESS NEEDS AND CREATES ACCESS TO THE DIGNITY OF WORK FOR THOSE WITH MORE SIGNIFICANT DISABILITIES.
FEDERAL CONTRACTS - VERSABILITY HAS GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS AT VARIOUS FEDERAL INSTALLATIONS THROUGHOUT HAMPTON ROADS AND ACROSS THE GLOBE AT WHICH PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WORK ALONGSIDE MILITARY AND CIVILIAN PERSONNEL AND EARN COMPETITIVE WAGES. THROUGH OUR 18 GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS, PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES PERFORM MISSION-ESSENTIAL WORK INCLUDING LOADING FOOD ON NAVY SHIPS, OPERATING GLOBAL CALL CENTERS, DISTRIBUTING AIR FORCE MAIL, ADMINISTRATION AND HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICES, MANUFACTURING EYE GLASSES, MAINTAINING GROUNDS, AND FOOD SERVICE.
VERSABILITY'S DAY SUPPORT PROGRAM AT SITES IN NEWPORT NEWS, HAMPTON AND GLOUCESTER SUPPORTS ADULTS WITH VARYING DISABILITIES IN REACHING THEIR HIGHEST LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE. STAFF ASSIST INDIVIDUALS IN DEVELOPING LIFE SKILLS, ACHIEVING DAILY GOALS, AND PROVIDE BEHAVIORAL AND MEDICATION SUPPORT. PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ENGAGE IN INDIVIDUALIZED LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT, ENJOY AREA AMENITIES, VOLUNTEER, AND ATTEND COMMUNITY EVENTS. VERSABILITY'S EARLY PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION FOR CHILDREN (EPIC) PROGRAM ASSISTS INFANTS AND TODDLERS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN REACHING THEIR GREATEST POTENTIAL. STAFF ASSESS THEIR NEEDS AND COORDINATE TAILORED THERAPY PROGRAMS AND MONITOR ACHIEVEMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL MILESTONES. FAMILIES ARE CONNECTED TO THERAPISTS, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS, PARENTING CLASSES, PLAYGROUPS, AND INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING.
