NATIONAL NETWORK TO ENHANCE CAPACITY OF STATE AND LOCAL SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE PROGRAMS (NNECS): PROVIDES A FORUM FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR, AND DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION ABOUT, EFFECTIVE STD PREVENTION. SUPPORTS STD PREVENTION IN ENSURING PROJECT AREA SUPPORT IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING, STD SURVEILLANCE, STAFFING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, DISEASE MANAGEMENT WITH BEST PRACTICE STANDARDS COMMUNICATIONS AND OUTCOME EVALUATION. NNECS ALSO FUNDS EDUCATION ON ACCURATE, COMPREHENSIVE, AND TIMELY PUBLIC HEALTH INFORMATION FOR STATE GOVERNORS, LEGISLATURES, POLICY MAKERS, AND THOSE INVOLVED IN STATE EFFORTS TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC'S HEALTH.

CAPACITY BUILDING ASSISTANCE: TO FURTHER ADOLESCENT SEXUAL HEALTH BY INCREASING ACCESS TO KEY SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICES PROVIDED BY YOUTH-FRIENDLY, COMMUNITY-BASED HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS. IN ORDER TO ADDRESS KEY SEXUAL HEALTH OUTCOMES AND HEALTH DISPARITIES SEEN IN YOUTH, THIS FUNDING ALLOWS NCSD TO PROVIDE CAPACITY BUILDING ASSISTANCE TO STATE AND TERRITORIAL EDUCATION AGENCIES IN THEIR WORK RELATED TO KEY SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICES.
