HEART TO HANDS MEDICAL PRACTICE SUPPORTS PATIENTS LIVING WITH HIV AND RELATED CONDITIONS. THE MEDICAL PRACTICE IS FUNDED BY GRANTS, INSURANCE PAYMENTS AND THE 340B DRUG PROGRAM, A FEDERAL PROGRAM ESTABLISHED TO SUPPLEMENT RYAN WHITE FUNDED PROGRAMS IN ORDER TO EXPAND SERVICES.
RYAN WHITE PART A SERVICES ENSURES THAT CORE MEDICAL AND SUPPORT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE FOR PEOPLE IN OUR METROPOLITAN AREA LIVING WITH HIV. PROGRAM SERVICES PROVIDED UNDER THIS GRANT INCLUDE: EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES (LINKAGE TO CARE), MEDICAL CASE MANAGEMENT, PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT, TRANSPORTATION, HEALTH INSURANCE ASSISTANCE AND OUTREACH. THIS YEAR 361 UNIQUE CLIENTS WERE SUPPORTED THROUGH 3567 SERVICE INTERACTIONS ACROSS PROGRAM AREAS.
RYAN WHITE REGIONAL EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES PROVIDES HIV PREVENTION, LINKAGE TO CARE AND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR POPULATION SPECIFIC CUSTOMERS IN THE METROPOLITAN WASHINGTON AREA. APPROXIMATELY 243 PEOPLE IN THIS PROGRAM WERE SUPPORTED THROUGH 348 SERVICE INTERACTIONS INCLUDING HIV/STI TESTING, LINKAGE TO PREVENTION OR CARE FOR NEWLY DIAGNOSED CLIENTS.
