THE CORE PROGRAM OF THE GEORGE B. THOMAS, SR. LEARNING ACADEMY, SATURDAY SCHOOL OFFERS TUTORING AND MENTORING IN READING/LANGUAGE ARTS, MATHEMATICS, AND TEST TAKING SKILLS FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 1-12. THE CURRICULUM IS ALIGNED WITH THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS.GRADE 1 THROUGH 8 FOCUS ON READING, LANGUAGE ARTS AND MATH.GRADES 9 THROUGH 12 FOCUS ON CORE SUBJECTS (ENGLISH AND MATH); SUPPORT OF HIGH SCHOOL ASSESSMENTS; HSA BRIDGE SUPPORT AVAILABLE AT SELECTED SITES.COLLEGE AND CAREEER READINESS IS EMPHASIZED.
THE GBTLA BECAME A SPONSOR OF THE AMERICORPS PROGRAM PROJECT CHANGE DURING FISCAL YEAR 2007. AMERICORPS STRIVES TO GET THINGS DONE IN AMERICA TO MAKE PEOPLE SAFER, SMARTER, AND HEALTHIER.
