THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS PROVIDE A FORUM FOR COUNSELING AND ADMISSION PROFESSIONALS TO NETWORK, RECEIVE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING, AND EXCHANGE INFORMATION TO ENHANCE THEIR OWN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND ADVANCE THE COUNSELING AND ADMISSION PROFESSIONS, FROM MARCH 2021 - DECEMBER 2021, THESE WERE HELD VIRTUALLY.
NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIRS, PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS COLLEGE FAIRS, AND STEM FAIRS (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH) ARE HELD IN CITIES ACROSS NORTH AMERICA BRINGING STUDENTS IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH ADMISSION PROFESSIONALS FROM PARTICIPATING POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS. FROM MARCH 2021 - DECEMBER 2021, THE FAIRS WERE HELD VIRTUALLY. NACAC WORKS WITH LOCAL COUNSELORS AND ADMISSION PROFESSIONALS AT EACH EVENT TO ENSURE ATTENDANCE BY STUDENTS FROM ALL SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS. THIS STUDENT POPULATION HAS BEEN EXPANDED FROM HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY TO ALSO INCLUDE,COLLEGE TRANSFERS, VETERANS, AND OTHERS FROM NON-TRADITIONAL EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUNDS.
THE PUBLIC POLICY AND RESEARCH DEPARTMENT FOLLOWS LEGISLATIVE ACTION RELATED TO COLLEGE ADMISSIONS AND KEEPS MEMBERS INFORMED OF POLICY ISSUES RELATED TO THE PROFESSION. THE DEPARTMENT ALSO PRODUCES RESEARCH MATERIALS AND BRIEFS ON TOPICS OF INTEREST TO OTHERS.
