POLICY WORK: ATFL WORKS WITH THE U.S. ADMINISTRATION AND U.S. CONGRESS TO EDUCATE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THE U.S. RELATIONSHIP WITH LEBANON. ATFL ALSO HOSTS REGULAR BRIEFINGS WITH THE WASHINGTON, D.C. THINK TANK COMMUNITY EXPERTS ON U.S. LEBANON AFFAIRS AND WRITES POLICY PAPERS ON SPECIFIC ISSUES FACING THE U.S. GOVERNMENT WITH REGARD TO LEBANON. ATFL ALSO HOSTS REGULAR BOARD OF DIRECTOR MEETINGS WITH GOVERNMENT AND NGO LEADERS IN LEBANON, AND SEPARATELY HOSTS MEMBERS OF THE U.S. CONGRESS IN AN UNOFFICIAL CAPACITY ON DELEGATION TRIPS TO LEBANON.


MEMBERSHIP AND OUTREACH SERVICES: ATFL PROMOTED AND DEVELOPED AN UNDERSTANDING AND COOPERATION BETWEEN THE U.S. AND LEBANON REGARDING CULTURAL, HUMANITARIAN, AND ECONOMIC MATTERS.


ANNUAL EVENT: ALMOST EVERY YEAR SINCE 1989, ATFL HAS HOSTED A GALA AWARDS NIGHT TO HONOR THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF PROMINENT LEBANESE-AMERICANS FOR THE CONTRIBUTIONS THEY HAVE MADE TO THEIR PROFESSIONS AND SOCIETY. THESE HONOREES HAVE DISTINGUISHED THEMSELVES IN SUCH FIELDS AS THE ARTS, SCIENCE, BUSINESS, ENTERTAINMENT, PUBLIC SERVICE, MEDICINE, AND LAW. THE NET PROCEEDS FROM THE GALA ALLOW ATFL TO CARRY OUT ITS MISSION.
