USA FOR IOM'S MISSION IS TO BROADEN PUBLIC AWARENESS AND MOBILIZE PRIVATE SECTOR RESOURCES IN SUPPORT OF DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO MIGRANTS AND DISPLACED PERSONS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

IN 2022, THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDED GRANTS TO THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION AS PART OF ITS RESPONSE TO THE ONGOING HUMANITARIAN CRISIS IN UKRAINE. THIS INCLUDED SUPPORT FOR: HEALTH, MENTAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT (MHPSS); WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE (WASH) SUPPORT FOR CONFLICT-AFFECTED PERSONS IN UKRAINE; AND IMPROVED ACCESS TO TARGETED NON-FOOD ITEMS MADE AVAILABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH GENDER, AGE AND PREFERENCE CRITERIA THROUGH USE OF DIGITAL MODALITIES.


IN 2022, THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDED A GRANT TO JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY'S CENTER FOR HUMANITARIAN HEALTH FOR EVALUATING HEALTH SYSTEM RESPONSIVENESS AND INCLUSION OF MIGRANTS, ASYLUM SEEKERS AND REFUGEES IN HEALTH AND PUBLIC HEALTH POLICIES IN LATIN AMERICA DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.


IN 2022, THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDED A GRANT TO THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION AS PART OF THE THIRD TRANCHE OF THE "CENTRAL AMERICAN MINOR PAROLEE PROGRAM," WHICH COVERS THE FAMILY REUNIFICATION OF MINORS FROM HONDURAS, GUATEMALA AND EL SALVADOR WITH THEIR FAMILIES IN THE UNITED STATES. THE PROJECT IS MANAGED AND IMPLEMENTED BY INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION'S UNITED STATES REFUGEE ADMISSIONS PROGRAM (IOM USRAP).


IN 2022, THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDED GRANTS TO THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION FOR THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS: A $157,500 GRANT TO ENHANCE BORDER MANAGEMENT CAPACITIES WITH BIOMETRIC DOCUMENTATION PROCESSING AND REGISTRATION EQUIPMENT IN THE REPUBLIC OF MALTA; A $75,000 GRANT SUPPORTING BASIC HEALTH NEEDS TO VENEZUELANS MIGRANTS IN DARIEN PANAMA; AND A $50,000 GRANT TO THE IOM'S GLOBAL ASSISTANCE FUND, WHICH ASSISTS MIGRANTS GLOBALLY WHERE NATIONAL SYSTEMS AND REGIONAL PROGRAMS HAVE LIMITED OR NO CAPACITY TO ADDRESS URGENT NEEDS OF MIGRANTS.
