THE NORTH CENTRAL-FLINT HILLS AREA AGENCY ON AGING, INC. IS A PRIVATE, NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT PLANS, COORDINATES AND SPONSORS SERVICES IN 18 COUNTIES TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY AND DIGNITY OF LIFE FOR OLDER KANSANS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE AREA AGENCY PROGRAMS AND SERVICES ARE PARTIALLY FUNDED BY THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT THROUGH THE KANSAS DEPARTMENT ON AGING AND VOLUNTARY PARTICIPANT CONTRIBUTIONS. THE AREA AGENCY WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL AND COUNTY GOVERNMENTS AND SENIOR CITIZENS. ALL SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE WITHOUT REGARD TO RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, SEX, AGE OR HANDICAP.

ELDERLY AND AGING SERVICES - WE SERVE PEOPLE 60 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER BY PLANNING, COORDINATING AND ADVOCATING FOR RELATED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR OLDER PERSONS. APPROXIMATELY 59,353 PEOPLE SERVED.
HOUSING SERVICES - THE SECTION 8 CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM PROVIDES HOUSING SUBSIDY TO QUALIFIED LOW-INCOME PERSONS WHO LEASE PRIVATE, UNSUBSIDIZED DWELLING UNITS. SUBSIDY IS PROVIDED IN THE FORM OF HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS WHICH ARE PAID DIRECTLY TO THE LANDLORD ON A MONTHLY BASIS AS LONG AS THE FAMILY REMAINS A PROGRAM PARTICIPANT. THE GOAL IS TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE UNTIL THE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES CAN ULTIMATELY PROVIDE FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES, INDEPENDENT OF GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. APPROXIMATELY 398 PEOPLE SERVED.
