FARM AND GARDEN BASED EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS - THE ALLIANCE SUPPORTS GARDENS THROUGHOUT ALL SCHOOLS IN THE DAVIS JOINT UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE ALLIANCE OFFERS A COMPETITIVE MATCHING GARDEN GRANT PROGRAM TO ALL INTERESTED SCHOOL SITES IN DAVIS, CA.


FARM VISITS - THE ALLIANCE SPONSORS LOCAL FARM VISITS FOR SECOND GRADERS. STUDENTS GAIN A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONNECTIONS AMONG THE ENVIRONMENT, FARMING, AND WHERE THEIR FOOD COMES FROM BY MEETING WITH FARMERS, PARTICIPATING IN FARM ACTIVITIES, AND TASTING A FARM-FRESH SNACK.
