Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

ICEED IS A MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH ASSOCIATION FOCUSING ON DEVELOPING CREATIVE, INTEGRATIVE SOLUTSION TO THE ISSUES FACING THE WORLD TODAY. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE CONFERENCES AND ROUND-TABLE DISCUSSIONS ON SUCH TOPICS AS ADRESSING SUSTAINABILITY ISSUES IN BUSINESS AND THE ECONOMY; EDUCATION AND YOUTH; THE ENVIRONMENT, FOOD AND SOIL; AND HEALTH CARE. EVENTS ARE HELD PRIMARILY IN A LOCATION IN SAN FRANCISCO'S UNION SQUARE AND IN THE SILVER-LEED GREEN BUILDING IN NEW YORK CITY. THE PURPOSE IS TO CONTRIBUTE TOWARD THE NEW PARADIGNM CURRENTLY EVOLVING IN WHICH PEOPLE LIVE AND WORK BY A NEW ETHIC AND FRAMEWORK, USING SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, AND OTHER ASPECTS OF HUMAN KNOWLEDGE IN A RESPONSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE WAY, AND AT THE SAME TIME RESPECTING ALL HUMANITY AND ITS DIVERSE CULTURES.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

ICEED AIMS TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL IN FOUR MAJOR WAYS: (A) A MAJOR LESSON LEARNED IN THE 20TH CENTURY IS THAT SEGMENTATION OF KNOWLEDGE INTO DISCRETE AREAS OF INQUIRY LIMITS THE POTENTIAL OF ANY FIELD TO DESCRIBE AND RESPOND TO THE COMPLEXITIES OF THE NATURAL WORLD. A CIVILIZATION OF TRUE PROSPERITY FOR ALL CITIZENS CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED THROUGH THE INTERGRATED RESEARCH OF MANY FIELDS - SCIENCE, MEDICINE, EDUCATION, POLITICS, ECONOMICS, AGRICULTURE, RELIGION, AND SO ON. TOWARD THIS END, ICEED PLANS INTERDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCES ON CROSS-CUTTING THEMES RELATED TO PROBLEMS FACING THE WORLD TODAY, SUCH AS FOOD SAFETY AND AGRICULTURE. THESE CONFERENCES WILL NOT FOLLOW THE TRADITIONAL CONFERENCE FORMAT OF PRESENTING INFORMATION TO UNTRAINED AUDIENCES, BUT RATHER ICEED INTENDS TO IMPLEMENT ANOTHER MODEL IN WHICH EXPERTS ARE CHOSEN FROM DISPARATE FIELDS TO DISCUSS ISSUES PLANNED BY THE PLANNING COMMITTEE AND DEVELOP ALTERNATIVES AND SOLUTIONS FOR PRESENTATION TO THE PUBLIC THROUGH PUBLICATIONS. SUCH DISCUSSIONS WILL BE IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE OF INTERESTED OBSERVERS. (B)ICEED PLANS AND ORGANIZES ROUND TABLE DISCUSSIONS IN THEMED FIELDS OF INQUIRY OR ENDEAVOR, SUCH AS BUSINES PEOPLE, HEALTH CARE PRACTITIONERS, EDUCATORS, AND YOUTH. (C)A MAJOR GOAL OF ICEED IS TO DEVELOP NETWORKS OF LIKE-MINDED INDIVIDUALS TO SHARE IDEAS AND DEVELOP POTENTIAL COLLABORATIONS FOR NEW PROGRAMS. THUS FAR, WE HAVE LINKED SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS IN THE GREEN AND SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRIES. (D)ICEED WILL CONTINUE STRIVING TO DISCOVER NEW ISSUES SUCH AS THESE IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH OUR ONGOING GOAL OF PURSUING SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMS FACING THE WORLD OF THE 21ST CENTURY. MOREOVER, ICEED AIMS TO CARRY OUT CROSS-CUTTING STUDIES IN ORDER TO INTEGRATE THE SOLUTIONS EMERGING IN INDIVIDUAL FIELDS INTO COMPREHENSIVE, INTEGRATED APPROACHES TO ESTABLISHING A SUSTIANABLE, PEACEFUL SOCIETY FOR ALL HUMANKIND.
