RESEARCH FOCUSING ON TREATING, CURING, AND PREVENTING BRCA CANCERS.-CONTINUATION OF MISSION STATEMENT-THE BRCA GENE MUTATION IS KNOWN TO CAUSE A HIGH INCIDENT OF BREAST AND OVARIAN CANCER IN AFFECTED INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. WOMEN WITH DELETERIOUS MUTATIONS IN GENES IDENTIFIED AS BRCA1 AND BRCA2 BOTH HAVE A HIGHER RISK OF DEVELOPING BREAST AND OVARIAN CANCER AND DEVELOP SUCH CANCERS AT AN EARLIER AGE THAN SPORADIC BREAST CANCER.
