THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE IS TO SUPPORT MEDICAL RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF ONCOLOGY AND CONDUCT COMMUNITY OUTREACH EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES IN UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS RELATED TO THE SCREENING AND PREVENTION OF CANCER. TO FURTHER ITS PURPOSE, THE CORPORATION CONDUCTS RESEARCH TO DEVELOP AND ADVANCE METHODOLOGIES FOR DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT AND CURE OF CANCER. IN ADDITION, THE CORPORATION SUPPORTS OTHER ORGANIZATIONS CONDUCTING CANCER RESEARCH, GIVES LECTURES ON THE SUBJECT OF CANCER DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT, AND DISSEMINATES INFORMATION TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. CORI FUNDED EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND FREE CANCER SCREENINGS IN THE INNER CITY. THESE EVENTS HAVE BEEN EXPANDED TO INCLUDE PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT AND CANCER PREVENTION TRAINING. THE OUTREACH ACTIVITIES HAVE ALSO BEEN EXPANDED TO INCLUDE YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS THE DREAM CENTER (AN INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION DEVOTED TO HELPING YOUNG INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES IN NEED). CORI DOCTORS WHO VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME HAVE EITHER EDUCATED OR PROVIDED FREE CANCER SCREENINGS TO MORE THAN 300,000 PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE GREATER LOS ANGELES AREA. AS A RESULT, CORI WAS RECOGNIZED BY THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES FOR THIS WORK.DURING 2022 THE ORGANIZATION WAS INVITED TO CO-SPONSOR TWO EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PRESENTATIONS WITH THE FIGHTING AGAINST CANCER FOR EVERYONE IN THE SPIRIT (F.A.C.E.S.) ORGANIZATION AT THE INGLEWOOD SOUTHSIDE CHRISTIAN CHURCH. DETAILS OF THE EVENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS.MARCH 22, 2022 - DR. ANTON BILCHIK WAS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN A LIVE DISCUSSION ON THE TOPIC OF "COLORECTAL CANCER SCREENINGS IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES" WITH THE HOST OF THE @ASKTHENP - JAMES Q. SIMMONS, DNP.JUNE 4, 2022 - IN COLLABORATION WITH THE FIGHTING AGAINST CANCER FOR EVERYONE IN THE SPIRIT (F.A.C.E.S.) IN RECOGNITION OF FATHER'S DAY AND MEN'S HEALTH AWARENESS, INGELWOOD SOUTHSIDE CHRISTIAN CHURCH AND KAISER PERMANENTE CONDUCTED A PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS EVENT. ALONZO WILLIAMS WAS THE MC OF THE EVENT WHICH INCLUDED DR. ANTON BILCHIK WHO GAVE AN OVERVIEW OF THE CALIFORNIA ONCOLOGY AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE AND INTRODUCED THE CELEBRITY GUEST KEY SPEAKER MICHAEL DORN (FROM THE STAR TREK FRANCHISE), A 15-YEAR PROSTATE CANCER SURVIVOR TO THE AUDIENCE. ALSO, DR. ROSALYN MORRELL GAVE A VERY INFORMATIVE PRESENTATION ON YOU AND YOUR PROSTATE, AND GENETIC COUNSELOR ARIN ABLES WILLIAMS GAVE A PRESENTATION ON THE IMPORTANCE OF GENETIC COUNSELING. AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 65 WERE IN ATTENDANCE.OCTOBER 1, 2022 - BREAST CANCER AWARENESS AND PREVENTION WORKSHOP. MORE THAN 110 MEN AND WOMEN ATTENDED THE EVENT, A BREAST CANCER AWARENESS WORKSHIP TO KICK OF BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. DR. LASHAWN WITT, DR. ANTON BILCHIK AND AARIN ABLES WILLIAMS SPOKE. IN ADDITION, CO FOUNDER OF STAND UP 2 CANCER, ELLEN ZIFFREN PARTICIPATED.
