TO REVITALIZE AND SUSTAIN THE NEAR WEST SIDE AS A THRIVING BUSINESS AND RESIDENTIAL CORRIDOR THROUGH COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS TO PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, IMPROVED HOUSING, UNIFIED NEIGHBORHOOD IDENTITY, BRANDING, AND GREATER SAFETY FOR RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES.

NWSP FOCUSED ON FOUR (4) MAIN AREAS OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO INCLUDE: (1) SAFETY, (2) HOUSING, (3) COMMERCIAL CORRIDOR DEVELOPMENT, AND (4) NEIGHBORHOOD IDENTIFYING AND BRANDING. HOUSING HAS BEEN A MAJOR FOCUS FOR NWSP DEVELOPING SEVERAL PROGRAMS INCLUDING THE "LIVE WORK PLAY" PROGRAM PROVIDING HOME OWNERSHIP INCENTIVES FOR THOSE WHO WORK AND WANT TO LIVE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. NWSP HAS ALSO PARTNERED WITH MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY AND THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MILWAUKEE TO SECURE AND IMPLEMENT A CHOICE NEIGHBORHOOD TRANSFORMATIONAL PLAN THAT WILL INFORM OUR WORK IN HOUSING IN THE NEAR WEST SIDE. NWSP SEES HOUSING AS THE NEXT PHASE OF IMPROVING THE AREAS OF SAFETY, COMMERCIAL CORRIDOR DEVELOPMENT AND NEIGHBORHOOD IDENTITY.OUR FEATURED PROGRAM TO ASSIST IN THE REVITALIZATION EFFORTS OF THE NEAR WEST SIDE IS PROMOTING ASSETS REDUCING CRIME (PARC). THIS MULTI-YEAR AND MULTI-MILLION PROGRAM SUPPORTS THE EFFORTS OF HIGHLIGHTING COMMUNITY BASED ASSETS PROMOTING ASSETS REDUCING CRIME: PROGRAM FOCUSES ON (1) PROMOTING THE ASSETS OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY INCLUDING HISTORIC NEIGHBORHOOD BUILDINGS, BUSINESSES, PEOPLE AND EVENTS SUCH AS THE HISTORIC CONCORDIA NEIGHBORHOOD TOUR, THE NEAR WEST SIDE FARMER'S MARKET, HOUSING INCENTIVE STRATEGY CALLED "LIVE, WORK, PLAY" ETC.
