SULLIVAN COUNTY ANTI-DRUG COALITION CREATES COMMUNITY ACCESS TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION FOR ITS YOUTH, AS WELL AS INTERVENTION AND HARM REDUCTION TO SUPPORT FAMILIES THROUGH ASSESSMENT, CAPACITY BUILDING, AND ADVOCACY.

SCORT PROGRAM UPDATE- SULLIVAN COUNTY OVERDOSE RESPONSE TEAM PROVIDES SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT OPTIONS, STABLE HOUSING RESOURCES, EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, RECOVERY OR LEGAL RELATED TRANSPORTATION INCLUDING SURROUND SERVICES SUCH AS CLOTHING, PHONES, DOCUMENTATION. PEER SUPPORT IS PROVIDED. 279 REFERRALS FROM OVERDOSE REPORTS FROM ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES WERE RECEIVED.137 MEN AND WOMEN WERE SIGNED UP AS NEW CLIENTS.


SOR-STATE OPIOID RESPONSE UPDATE. APPROXIMATELY, 5811 NARCAN KITS AND 1576 KLOXADO WERE DISTRIBUTED TO NE TN COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS OR INDIVIDUALS. THIS GRANT ALSO FUNDED A MEDIA CAMPAIGN AROUND INTERNATIONAL OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY.


PREVENTION STAFF REACHED 250 ELEMENTARY AGED YOUTH BY PRESENTING A PROGRAM TO 5 LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SUMMER PROGRAMS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE YMCA OF GREATER KINGSPORT. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT MORE THAN 300 YOUTH AND 200 PARENTS WERE PROVIDED WITH MESSAGING AND PRODUCTS THAT CENTER AROUND PREVENTION MESSAGING. THE PREVENTION TEAM ALSO COLLABORATED WITH NEW VISION YOUTH TO TAKE 5 GROUPS OF TEENS TO VISIT THE TENNESSEE TEEN INSTITUTE. THE MORE THAN 24 STUDENTS SPENT A WEEK ON THE CAMPUS OF TN MARTIN LEARNING VALUABLE LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND COALITION WORK. SIM PROGRAM UPDATE- PROVIDES SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT OPTIONS, STABLE HOUSING RESOURCES, EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, RECOVERY OR LEGAL RELATED TRANSPORTATION, SURROUND SERVICES SUCH AS CLOTHING, PHONES, DOCUMENTATION LIKE BIRTH CERTIFICATES, STATE ID CARDS, AND SOCIAL SECURITY CARD RESOURCES UPON RELEASE FROM INCARCERATION. LEGAL ADVOCACY, PEER SUPPORT, RE-ENTRY PLANNING, AS WELL AS CONNECTION TO 12 STEP RECOVERY COMMUNITIES ARE PROVIDED.
