SULLIVAN COUNTY ANTI-DRUG COALITION CREATES COMMUNITY ACCESS TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION FOR ITS YOUTH, AS WELL AS INTERVENTION AND HARM REDUCTION TO SUPPORT FAMILIES THROUGH ASSESSMENT, CAPACITY BUILDING, AND ADVOCACY.

SULLIVAN COUNTY OVERDOSE RESPONSE TEAM SCORT - THE GRANT IS A PILOT PROGRAM PROJECT FROM THE TN DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES. 426 REFERRALS WERE RECEIVED INTO THE PROGRAM TO WORK TOWARD THEIR RECOVERY.
STATE OPIOD RESPONSE. APPROXIMATELY 12,150 NARCAN KITS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO NE TN COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS OR INDIVIDUALS. THIS GRANT ALSO FUNDED TWO MEDIA CAMPAIGNS AROUND INTERNATIONAL OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY AND RECOVERY MONTH.
OTHER PROGRAMS - INCREASED YOUTH INVOLVEMENT IN YOUTH COALITION ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING RED RIBBON WEEK ACTIVITIES, TOBACCO POLICY ADVOCACY WITH LEGISLATORS AND SIGNING ON BUSINESSES TO BE SMOKE AND VAPE FREE. YOUTUBERS INITIATIVE PROVIDED OPPERTUNITIES FOR YOUTH TO DEVELOPE AND PROMOTE THEIR ADVOCACY WORK. 327 PERSONAL LOCKBOXES DISTRIBUTED AND 1 NATIONAL TAKE BACK EVENT TO PROMOTE SAFE MEDICATION DISPOSAL AND STORAGE.
