THE MCSHIN FOUNDATION HAS THE ABILITY TO PROVIDE SAME DAY ACCESS TO AUTHENTIC PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES, AS WELL AS LINKAGE TO CLINICAL SERVICES INCLUDING DETOX, PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION, ADDICTION CONSULTATIONS, INDIVIDUAL THERAPY, AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELING. BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS, ACCESS TO IMMEDIATE SERVICES IS IMPERATIVE TO THE RECOVERY PROCESS. THE RESIDENTIAL COMPONENT OF MCSHIN'S RECOVERY PROGRAM IS OFTEN THE MOST ESSENTIAL ASPECT OF THE RECOVERY PROCESS. THE RECOVERY HOUSING PROGRAM FOR PARTICIPANTS ALLOWS FOR STRUCTURE, FOCUS, AND A SENSE OF COMMUNITY TO BE CONSTANT ELEMENTS OF RECOVERY. FOR CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE PARTICIPANTS, THE NEED FOR SAFE HOUSING IS CRUCIAL, ESPECIALLY AS THE MOST COMMONLY SERVED POPULATIONS AT MCSHIN FOUNDATION ARE INDIVIDUALS REENTERING SOCIETY FROM INCARCERATION OR INSTITUTIONALIZATION, RECOVERY-RESISTANT INDIVIDUALS WITH A HISTORY OF RELAPSE, AND INDIVIDUALS SEEKING AFTERCARE FOR TREATMENT CENTERS. ADDITIONALLY, ACCESS TO RECOVERY HOUSING IS PARAMOUNT FOR AN INDIVIDUAL'S FIRST THIRTY DAYS OF RECOVERY AS IT IS DURING THIS CRITICAL PERIOD WHEN THE GREATEST INROADS ARE MADE INTO BUILDING A RECOVERY FOUNDATION. 229 PARTICIPANTS CAME THROUGH THE 28 DAY PROGRAM IN FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023 AND 184 OF THOSE COMPLETED THE 28 DAY PROGRAM. 12,299 INDIGENT BED NIGHTS AND 117 RECEIVED 28 DAY PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS.
