QIN/QIO ALIGNS WITH THE DHHS NATIONAL QUALITY STRATEGY INCLUDING BETTER CARE, BETTER HEALTH AND LOWER COSTS, PREVENTION AND POPULATION HEALTH, EXPANDED HEALTH COVERAGE AND ENTERPRISE EXCELLENCE. WE FOCUS ON BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND OPIOID MISUSE; PATIENT SAFETY, CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT, CARE TRANSITION, NURSING HOME QUALITY
EXTERNAL QUALITY REVIEW - AUDITS MANAGED CARE HEALTH PLANS TO DETERMINE COMPLIANCE WITH CMS AND APPLICABLE STATE REQUIREMENTS AND PROVIDES QUALITY IMPROVEMENT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. FEDERAL REGULATIONS REQUIRE THAT STATES OPERATING MEDICAID MANAGED CARE PROGRAMS CONTRACT WITH AN INDEPENDENT EXTERNAL QUALITY REVIEW ORGANIZATION (EQRO) TO ASSESS THE QUALITY, ACCESS AND TIMELINESS OF HEALTH SERVICES PROVED TO MEDICAID BENEFICIARIES.
