CLASSES - MAKOTO TAIKO PROVIDES TAIKO DRUMMING INSTRUCTION TO THE COMMUNITY. IN 2022, THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF STUDENTS WERE 96 IN CLASSES SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR KIDS, ADULTS AND SENIORS. WE WELCOMED PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, TAIKO EXPERIENCE, ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS, GENDER IDENTIFICATION AND FAITHS. APPROXIMATELY 10 CLASSES PER WEEK ARE HELD YEAR-ROUND.
PERFORMANCES - MAKOTO TAIKO PERFORMS FOR NUMEROUS COMMUNITY EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE LOS ANGELES AREA. IN 2022, APPROXIMATELY 80 STUDENTS PERFORMED AT AN ANNUAL CONCERT WHICH RETURNED AFTER A 2 YEAR BREAK DUE TO THE PANDEMIC.
EDUCATION - MAKOTO TAIKO HOLDS INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS AND PERFORMANCES TO SCHOOLS, LIBRARIES AND SENIOR CARE FACILITIES DURING WHICH WE SHARE THE HISTORY OF TAIKO IN JAPAN AND THE US AND INTERESTING INFORMATION ABOUT THE DRUMS AND THE ARTFORM.
