POLICY: PROVIDE POLICY ANALYSIS, EXPERTISE AND INFORMATION TO ASSIST FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT IN ADVANCING HIGHER EDUCATION SUCCESS FOR VETERANS, SERVICE MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND SURVIVORS; IMPROVING COLLEGE QUALITY; AND STOPPING DECEPTIVE COLLEGE RECRUITING AND FRAUD BY PREDATORY COLLEGES.
FREE HELP FOR VETERANS: PROVIDE FREE ASSISTANCE AND COLLEGE AND CAREER COUNSELING TO APPROXIMATELY 5,000 VETERANS, SERVICE MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIIES AND SURVIVORS (WITH APPROXIMATELY 10 NEW INCOMING VETERANS EACH WEEK) WHO NEED HELP WITH THEIR GI BILL OR PROBLEMS WITH THEIR POSTSECONDARY INSTITUTION OR WHO WERE VICTIMS OF PREDATORY COLLEGE RECRUITING AND FRAUD; HELP THEM CONNECT TO FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT RESOURCES.
