AWARENESS & EDUCATION - WE RAISE AWARENESS AND PROVIDE EDUCATION ABOUT THE RISKS OF INFERTILITY DUE TO CANCER TREATMENT. WE DO THIS BY PROVIDING CONTENT, DOWNLOADABLE PATIENT INFORMATION SHEETS, ETC. ON OUR WEBSITE. WE CONSTANTLY UPDATE OUR MATERIALS THROUGH RESEARCH, ATTENDANCE AT MEDICAL CONFERENCES, AND IN CONSULTATION WITH EXPERTS/LEADERS IN THE FIELD. WE ALSO DISSEMINATE THIS INFORMATION BY ATTENDING CONFERENCES, SPEAKING AT CANCER CENTERS AND OTHER PROFESSIONAL MEETINGS/WEBINARS.
ADVOCACY - THIS PROGRAM FOCUSES ON INFORMING PATIENTS AND PROVIDERS ABOUT INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR FERTILITY PRESERVATION SERVICES -- WHERE IT EXISTS, WHERE IT IS PENDING VIA LEGISLATION, AND WHAT SPECIFIC COVERAGES INCLUDE. WE HAVE ALSO CREATED A VARIETY OF TOOLS: CHECKLISTS, TEMPLATE COVERAGE LANGUAGE, FISCAL ESTIMATE ALGORITHMS, AND BACKGROUND MEMOS ON COVERAGE FOR USE BY PHYSICIAN AND PATIENT ADVOCATES WHEN SEEKING BETTER INSURANCE COVERAGE. WE ALSO PROVIDE TEMPLATE INSURANCE APPEAL LETTERS FOR INDIVIDUAL PATIENT APPEALS. WE ALSO SERVE AS EXPERTS ON THE NEED AND THE VALUE OF FERTILITY PRESERVATION COVERAGE FOR POLICYMAKERS.
FERTILITY SCOUT - THIS IS A CLINIC AND FACILITIES LOCATOR TOOL. IT WAS BUILT BY SLALOM CONSULTING ON A PRO BONO BASIS. IT IS DESIGNED TO HELP PATIENTS AND PROVIDERS QUICKLY FIND FERTILITY SERVICES IN THEIR AREA. WE ARE CONSTANTLY UPDATING, REFINING AND ADDING TO THE TOOL. WE ALSO DEVELOP MARKETING MATERIALS SUCH AS POSTCARDS AND ELECTRONIC EMAILS TO GET THE TOOL OUT TO THE ONCOLOGY COMMUNITY AND TO INDIVIDUAL PATIENTS WHO ARE SEEKING THESE SERVICES.
