THE PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR THE YEAR INCLUDED -SCC (SABULI CHILDREN'S CENTER - THE SCC ORGANIZATION CONTINUED TO HOUSE 96 CHILDREN, AND 14 BABIES UNDER THE AGE OF ONE, WHERE THEY WERE FED, CLOTHED, PROVIDED MEDICAL CARE, AND EDUCATED IN THE LOCAL SCHOOL SYSTEM. ALL THE CHILDREN ARE DOING WELL WITH SEVERAL GRADUATING FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND 4 GOING ON TO COLLEGE. A VOCATION TRAINING PROGRAM AT THE SCC PREPARES MANY OF THE CHILDREN FOR A FUTURE INDEPENDENT LIFE.UPU (UBANGI PROTESTANT UNIVERSITY) - THIS YEAR, OVER 130 STUDENTS ATTENDED THE UNIVERSITY UNDER SCHOLARSHIPS PROVIDED BY CONGO-VOICE DONATIONS. *CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O*GCC (GEMENA COMMUNITY CENTER) - THE COMMUNITY CENTER AND A NEW MEDICAL CENTER CONTINUED TO THRIVE THIS YEAR, WITH FORMAL RECOGNITION FROM THE LOCAL COMMUNITY LEADERS. GCC WILL HOST VOCATION TRAINING, MENTORING SERVICES FOR LOCAL ENTERPRENUERS, OFFICES FOR LOCAL PARTNERS, AND A WIDE ARRAY OF LOCAL SERVICES LIKE RETAIL SPACE, FOOD SERVICES, AND CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS. THE MEDICAL CENTER CONTINUES TO HOST VISITING DOCTORS THAT PROVIDE LOCAL DENTISTRY, EYE SURGERY, AND OTHER GENERAL SURGERIES AT REDUCED COSTS. PART OF THE CENTER IS NOW RENTED BY A LOCAL BANK THAT IS PROVIDING LOCAL BANKING SERVICES INCLUDING LOANS, SAVINGS AND INSURANCE. ALSO THIS YEAR, THE PARTNERSHIP WAS EXPANDED WITH CONGO LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE (CLI) AND THEY NOW ARE TRAINING 20 STUDENTS A MONTH.
CONGO VOICE MADE A GRANT TO THE LOBIKO INITIATIVE TO ADVANCE THE HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN, LEAD A PURPOSE-DRIVEN LIFE OF WELL-BEING, EQUIP A GENERATION OF LEADERS THAT EMPOWER TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGE, AND PROMOTE THE NECESSARY INFRASTRUCTURES FOR ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY.
