TO PROVIDE THE EMPLOYEES OF USLI THE OPPORTUNITY TO REQUEST DONATIONS TO BE MADE TO CHARITIES AND CAUSES TO WHICH THEY HAVE A DIRECT, PERSONAL CONNECTION, AND TO SERVE AS A PORTAL FOR FUNDS RAISED FROM USLI EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS TO SUPPORT A BROAD RANGE OF CHARITABLE CAUSES AND ORGANIZATIONS.

THE CARE2 FUND AT USLI INC. HAS A LONG-STANDING RELATIONSHIP WITH BREASTCANCER.ORG, A LOCAL CHARITY SPECIALIZING IN BREAST CANCER OUTREACH, EDUCATION AND RESEARCH. EVERY OCTOBER WE HOLD A SERIES OF OCTOBER TOGETHER FUNDRAISERS INCLUDING A SILENT AUCTION. THIS OUR LARGEST FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR.
DONATIONS TO 78 CAUSES SUGGESTED BY MEMBERS OF THE USLI COMMUNITY, RANGING FROM MEDICAL SUPPORT FOR CRITICALLY ILL CHILDREN TO SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS AND TEAMS PARTICIPATING IN FUNDRAISING EVENTS TO SUPPORT FOR COMMUNITY AND OUTREACH ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS ANIMAL SHELTERS, COUNSELING CENTERS, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CENTERS, AND FEEDING PROGRAMS. ALL DONATIONS RANGE FROM $250 TO $1,000 PER CAUSE. TEN OF THE CAUSES WERE SPECIFIC ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS: SIX TO ASSIST MEDICAL PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH MEDICAL OR OTHER EXPENSES, TWO TO HELP COVER FUNERAL EXPENSES AFTER A SUDDEN DEATH, AND ONE TO HELP WITH EMERGENCY EXPENSES AFTER A FIRE.
DONATIONS OF FUNDS RAISED FROM USLI EMPLOYEES, CLIENTS AND CUSTOMERS FOR DISASTER RELIEF AND IN SUPPORT OF CHARITABLE CAUSES. 2022 OUTREACH INCLUDED SUPPORT FOR UNDER-SERVED AND IN-NEED INDIVIDUALS; MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT; MALARIA PREVENTION; CLEAN DRINKING WATER FOR HAITIANS; RELIEF FOR SURVIVORS OF MASS SHOOTINGS AND THEIR FAMILIES; PANCREATIC CANCER RESEARCH AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE AMERICAN RED CROSS FOR HUMANITARIAN AID TO UKRAINE.TWO OF THE FUNDRAISERS WERE TO SUPPORT THE EDUCATION OF THE SURVIVING CHILDREN OF INDIVIDUALS LOST TO ILLNESS.
THE CARE2 FUND AT USLI INC HAS ENTERED INTO A PARTNERSHIP WITH URBAN CREATORS, A 501(C)3 URBAN FARM IN PHILADELPHIA WORKING TO FEED AND EDUCATE UNDER-SERVED FAMILIES. $117,750 WAS CONTRIBUTED TO SUPPORT STAFF SALARIES, AND $35,863 WAS CONTRIBUTED TOWARD THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW FACILITIES AT THE FARM.
