THE RECREATIONAL AVIATION FOUNDATION PRESERVES, IMPROVES, AND CREATES AIRSTRIPS FOR RECREATIONAL ACCESS.

THE RAF TEAMED UP WITH THE US FOREST SERVICE AND THE ARIZONA PILOTS ASSOCIATION TO REPAVE A 3,800 FOOT RUNWAY AT GRAPEVINE AIRSTRIP NEAR ROOSEVELT, AZ, RESTORING IT TO A SAFE CONDITION. THE AIRSTRIP IS FREQUENTLY USED BY THE NATIONAL GUARD AND THE AIR FORCE, AND IS A CRITICAL PART OF FIRE OPERATIONS FOR THE US FOREST SERVICE.


OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS FELL UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF THE PROMOTION AND BETTERMENT OF RECREATIONAL AIRSTRIPS.


THE RAF SUPPORTED SEVERAL NATIONAL AIR STRIPS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO TRIGGER GAP, RYAN FIELD, KATAMA, AND LAS TRANCAS TO HELP IMPROVE AND MAINTAIN THESE AIR STRIPS FOR RECREATIONAL AVIATORS ACROSS THE NATION. THIS ONGOING DEVELOPMENT, MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVMENT IS A PRIMARY GOAL OF RAF.


THE RAF RECEIVED AND DISTRIBUTED FUNDS THAT WILL HELP EXPAND AND IMPROVE THE EXISTING AIRSTRIP NEAR THE CHILDS GLACIER IN ALASKA, ENHANCING THE SAFTEY OF ACCESS BY AIR TO A US FOREST SERVICE CAMPGROUND THAT CAN OTHERWISE ONLY BE REACHED BY RIVERBOAT.
