PET HAVEN RESCUES AND RE-HOMES CATS AND DOGS, SPAYS AND NEUTERS TO REDUCE OVER POPULATION, PROMOTES COMPANION ANIMAL WELFARE, AND ADVOCATES ON BEHALF OF COMPANION ANIMALS.

PET HAVEN RESCUES, REHABILITATES AND RE-HOMES RESCUED CATS AND DOGS. IN 2023, A TOTAL OF 867 PETS WERE RESCUED AND BROUGHT INTO THE CARE OF PET HAVEN AND 915 WERE ADOPTED INTO LOVING HOMES. IN 2023, 709 CATS WERE RESCUED AND BROUGHT INTO THE CARE OF PET HAVEN WHILE 738 CATS WERE PLACED IN ADOPTIVE LOVING HOMES. IN 2023, 158 DOGS WERE RESCUED AND BROUGHT INTO THE CARE OF PET HAVEN WHILE 177 DOGS WERE PLACED IN ADOPTIVE LOVING HOMES.PET HAVEN'S OWNER SURRENDER PROGRAM SERVED 264 FAMILIES NEEDING TO SURRENDER THEIR FAMILY PET. THIS WAS NEITHER AN INCREASE NOR DECREASE OVER 2022. HAVING THE OPTION FOR PET HAVEN AS A SAFE PLACE FOR FAMILY PETS HELPS TO TAKE THE STRESS OFF OF AN OFTEN DIFFICULT SITUATION. AS PART OF PET HAVEN'S MISSION TO REDUCE UNWANTED LITTERS AND OVERPOPULATION, PET HAVEN PROVIDED SPAY/NEUTER SERVICES TO 767 PETS THROUGH OUR VETERINARY PARTNERS. THROUGH PET HAVEN'S MICROCHIP PROGRAM, 698 PETS RECEIVED MICROCHIPS. PET HAVEN REGISTERS EVERY CHIP TO THE NEW ADOPTER AND STAYS ON AS A SECONDARY CONTACT SO EVERY PET HAVEN PET HAS A SAFE PLACE TO LAND NO MATTER WHAT. BOTH THE SPAY/NEUTER SERVICES AND THE MICROCHIP PROGRAM HAVE SEEN CONTINUAL INCREASES EVERY YEAR. AS PART OF OUR MISSION TO SERVE MORE MINNESOTA PETS IN NEED AND INCREASE OUR LIFE SAVING IMPACT. PET HAVE OPENED UP ITS FIRST PHYSICAL SPACE IN APRIL OF 2022. THE FACILITY IS A BEAUTIFUL AND WELCOMING 5,500 SQ FOOT COMMUNITY BUILDING CENTER WHERE FAMILIES ARE CREATED THROUGH OUR ADOPTION PROGRAMS, FOSTERS ARE SUPPORT THROUGH HAVING A CENTRAL MEETING PLACE AND HOUSING SUPPLIES, VOLUNTEERS HAVE ACCESS TO STAFF WHEN NEEDED., AND THIS FACILITY ALSO OFFERS TEMPORARY EMERGENCY HOLDING OF AT RISK PETS WHEN NEEDED THUS ALLOWING US TO IMPACT A GREATER NUMBER OF PETS IN CRISIS. WE CONTINUE TO SEE THE EFFECTS OF HOUSING INSECURITY AND FINANCIAL STRESS ON PETS AND PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY, AS PET HAVEN SAW AN INCREASE IN SURRENDER SERVICES OF 69% IN 2023 AS COMPARED TO 2022.
