THE HUMANE ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY OF WAUKESHA COUNTY LEADS THE COMMUNITY IN ANIMAL WELFARE AND ASSURES SANCTUARY FOR ANIMALS IN NEED.

OUR SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC COMPLETED 1,409 TNR SURGERIES, AN INCREASE OF 21% FROM LAST YEAR. 8,483 PROCEDURES WERE PERFORMED ON ANIMALS IN 2022. THAT INCLUDED LOW INCOME, RESCUE GROUPS, TNR AND SHELTER ANIMALS (DOGS, CATS, RABBITS, GINUEA PIGS, RATS). KERN FUNDS SUPPORTED COMMUNITY ANIMALS WITH OVER $9,000 IN FUNDS AND AN ADDITIONAL $19,664 OF IN SHELTER PROCEDURES DONATED. ANNIE'S FUND SUPPORTED ALUMNI REQUIRING MEDICAL ASSISTANCE WITH $12,645 IN FUNDS. 4,992 ANIMALS WERE IN RESIDENCE AT HAWS IN 2022. 4,838 ANIMALS WERE ADOPTED, TRANSFERRED OR RETURNED. ANIMAL RESCUE RESPONDED TO 1,329 ANIMALS IN DISTRESS. BEHAVIOR DEPARTMENT TRAINING PROGRAMS - DAY TRAINING PROGRAM AND ARE AT 70% CAPACITY FOR THE YEAR. 173 TRAINING CLASSES WERE OFFERED, OVER 600 DOGS AND THEIR PEOPLE ATTENDED CLASSES.
THERE WERE 766 STUDENTS AND TEACHERS WHO ATTENDED FIELD TRIPS TO THE SCHALLOCK CENTER FOR ANIMALS IN APRIL AND MAY. THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT HOSTED 6,622 INDIVIDUALS IN THEIR PROGRAMS. 796 STUDENTS ATTENDED SUMMER CAMP.
