RUFF START RESCUE IS DEDICATED TO SAVING THE LIVES OF ANIMALS IN NEED. WE IMPROVE ANIMAL WELFARE IN COMMUNITIES THROUGH ADOPTION, EDUCATION, AND PROVIDING RESOURCES FOR PEOPLE AND PETS.

ANIMAL CARE PROGRAM RUFF START RESCUE IS DEDICATED TO SAVING THE LIVES OF ANIMALS IN NEED AND IS A NO-KILL, 100% SPAY/NEUTER RESCUE THAT HELPS ANIMALS OF ALL BREEDS, AGES, AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS ACROSS MINNESOTA AND THE UNITED STATES. SINCE MARCH 2010, RUFF START HAS SAVED OVER 21,480 ANIMALS. RUFF START IS FOSTER-BASED, WITH NO PHYSICAL SHELTER TO HOUSE ANIMALS. THE RESCUE HAS OVER 600 DEDICATED FOSTER HOMES THROUGHOUT CENTRAL MINNESOTA AND PROVIDES THE COMMUNITY WITH RESOURCES TO KEEP THEIR PETS IN HOMES. IT ALSO PARTNERS WITH ADOPTION CENTERS TO HELP PLACE ANIMALS WITH ADOPTIVE FAMILIES. SEE SCHEDULE O FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS.
EDUCATION PROGRAM RUFF START RESCUE'S EDUCATION PROGRAM ENCOURAGES COMMUNITY MEMBERS OF ALL AGES TO BECOME RESPONSIBLE AND COMPASSIONATE PET OWNERS AND ANIMAL ADVOCATES. IN 2022, RUFF START RESCUE REACHED 533 CHILDREN AND 115 ADULTS. THE RESCUE DELIVERS AGE-APPROPRIATE INFORMATION ON TOPICS SUCH AS THE IMPORTANCE OF SPAY/NEUTER, ANIMAL SAFETY, PET CARE, RESCUE, AND ADOPTION. THROUGH CLASSROOM PRESENTATIONS, PRESENTATIONS TO YOUTH AND ADULT ORGANIZATIONS, COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS, AND UNIQUE PROGRAMMING, RUFF START RESCUE'S EDUCATION PROGRAM HAS REACHED OVER 8,650 TOTAL INDIVIDUALS SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 2013.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT RUFF START RESCUE IS COMMITTED TO FOSTERING RESIDENT ANIMAL WELFARE BY PROVIDING RESOURCES TO SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES IN NEED. IN 2022, RUFF START CONTRIBUTED OVER 8,145 LBS. OF PET FOOD TO LOCAL SHELTERS, FOOD BANKS, AND ANIMAL RESCUES.
