A WELLNESS CHECK-IN TO RESIDENTS IN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE IN ANOKA AND HENNEPIN COUNTIES. WE SERVE ELDERLY, DISABLED AND OTHER HOMEBOUND NEIGHBORS THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITY. IMPACT SERVICES HAS THE ABILITY TO PROVIDE MEALS THAT MEET DIETARY RESTRICTIONS SUCH AS LOW SODIUM AND DIABETIC SPECIFIC MEALS, AS WELL AS OTHERS. IMPACT SERVICES WORKS WITH THOSE WE SERVE IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A MEAL THAT WILL BE EATEN AND ENJOYED BY THE INDIVIDUAL. WE LISTEN TO THOSE RECEIVING THE SERVICE AND CATERS TO THEIR TASTE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
VOICES OF IMPACT IS A CHOIR FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA AND THEIR CAREGIVERS. THE CHOIR MEETS WEEKLY AND HOSTS TWO CONCERTS ANNUALLY FOR THE COMMUNITY. THE CHOIR USES MUSIC TO OPEN MEMORY FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY DEMENTIA. THE WEEKLY MEETINGS INCLUDE TIME TO SING MUSIC, SHARE STORIES AND BUILD COMMUNITY. THIS GROUP FINDS SAFETY AND SUPPORT FOR EACH OTHER, AS THEY ALL HAVE A SHARED EXPERIENCE IN LIVING WITH DEMENTIA.
FAMILY AGING EDUCATION IS A CURRICULUM FOR AGING SENIORS AND THEIR LOVED ONES TO DISCUSS THE CONCERNS THAT ARISE WITH THE AGING PROCESS. PROVIDING SENIORS THE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPART THEIR DESIRE TO AGE WITH DIGNITY. IMPACT SERVICES CURRICULUM PROVIDES TRAINING IN TALKING ABOUT AGING AND SELF GUIDE MANUAL TO HELP FAMILIES ANSWER THE CRITICAL QUESTIONS THAT ARISE WITH THE AGING PROCESS. THIS CURRICULUM ALLOWS THE FAMILIES TO FIND A STARTING POINT FOR THIS DIFFICULT CONVERSATION. THE QUESTIONS PROVIDE AN ENTRY FOR FAMILIES TO SEEK ANSWERS TO DEEPER MORE MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS THAT ARE PERTINENT TO THEIR FAMILY. AREAS ADDRESSED BY THE MANUAL INCLUDES: LEGAL/ FINANCE/ HOUSING/ SAFETY & SECURITY/ PERSONAL CARE AND SUPPORT. IMPACT SERVICES HOLDS TRAINING SESSIONS AT LOCAL CARE CENTERS, FAITH COMMUNITIES, SENIOR CENTERS AND OTHER PUBLIC PRESENTATIONS TO TRAIN SENIORS.
