HOME STAFF - THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES IN-HOME HELP AND CARE FOR DISABLED INDIVIDUALS. THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH AND THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES PROVIDES THE FUNDING.
INTERPRETING SERVICES ARE PROVIDED FOR THE DEAF AND HEARING- IMPAIRED. INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS ARE HIRED WHEN CLIENTS REQUEST SOMEONE TO "SIGN" FOR AN INDIVIDUAL THAT IS EITHER DEAF, OR HEARING IMPAIRED. CLIENTS ARE CHARGED A FEE FOR THE SERVICE, AND SUBSEQUENTLY, THE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS ARE PAID FOR THEIR SERVICES. STANDARD RATES ARE USED FROM 7:00 AM TO 6:00 PM, WITH HIGHER RATES BEING USED BEFORE AND AFTER. INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS ALSO RECEIVE MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT.
DEVELOPING EMPLOYMENT SKILLS, JOB PLACEMENT AND JOB COACHING FOR DISABLED INDIVIDUALS IS ANOTHER SERVICE OFFERED BY V.O.I.C.E. FUNDING FOR THIS SERVICE IS PROVIDED BY THE STATE OF MICHIGAN.
