Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
IN 2021, THE ORAL HEALTH PARTNERSHIP (OHP) FOCUSED ON REGROWING OPERATIONS AND EXPANDING CAPACITY TO NEAR PRE-PANDEMIC LEVELS FOR AT-RISK CHILDREN IN NEED OF DENTAL CARE. OHP SERVED 9,261 CHILDREN DURING 19,269 APPOINTMENTS. THE VALUE OF OHP'S DENTAL SERVICES WAS $10,372,148, AND MEDICAID REIMBURSED ROUGHLY 40% OF THAT AMOUNT. ALL CHILDREN SERVED BY OHP ARE ON MEDICAID OR ARE LOW-INCOME UNINSURED. OHP IS VITAL TO DENTAL HEALTH IN AND AROUND BROWN COUNTY - WITHOUT THESE SERVICES CHILDREN WOULD HAVE LIMITED OR NO OPTIONS FOR PAIN, INFECTIONS, ABSCESSES, AND ROUTINE DENTAL CLEANINGS ASSOCIATED WITH DENTAL DISEASE. MAKING CHILDREN HEALTHY WHILE YOUNG AND EQUIPPING THEM WITH THE TOOLS TO MAINTAIN THEIR ORAL HEALTH CREATES ADULTS WITH MUCH BETTER ORAL HEALTH. THE EDUCATION OHP PROVIDES TO PATIENTS AND FAMILIES CHANGES BEHAVIOR FOR GENERATIONS. BETTER ORAL HEALTH LEADS TO BETTER OVERALL HEALTH, HIGHER SELF-ESTEEM, FEWER SCHOOL DAYS MISSED, AND GREATER SUCCESS IN THE WORKPLACE AND LIFE.
