SEIU DISTRICT 1199 SEEKS TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ITS MEMBERS AND SOCIETY AS A WHOLE BY IMPROVING THE WORKING CONDITIONS, WAGES AND BENEFITS OF ITS MEMBERS. IT DOES THIS BY REPRESENTING THEM IN COLLECTIVE BARGAINING NEGOTIATIONS WITH THEIR EMPLOYERS, ARBITRATING LABOR DISPUTES AND ORGANIZING NEW BARGAINING UNITS. SEIU DISTRICT 1199 REPRESENTS APPROXIMATELY 25,000 MEMBERS THROUGHOUT WEST VIRGINIA, KENTUCKY AND OHIO.
