Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
ONE IN TWO AMERICAN FAMILIES STRUGGLE TO PROVIDE DIAPERS FOR THEIR BABIES. THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP THEM CLEAN, HEALTHY AND DRY. WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA DIAPER BANK WAS FOUNDED IN 2012 TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THE DIAPER CRISIS IN OUR COMMUNITY. THROUGH RESEARCH, WE FOUND THAT EBT, SNAP, AND WIC DID NOT COVER DIAPERS. FAMILIES HAD TO MAKE A DECISION TO BUY DIAPERS OR FOOD. DIAPERS COST ABOUT $100-$120 DOLLARS PER MONTH PER BABY. THE VERY FIRST YEAR OF SERVICE, WE DISTRIBUTED 16,000 DIAPERS. IN 2023 WE DISTRIBUTED 2.5 MILLION DIAPERS AND PARTNERED WITH 70 PLUS SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES. IN THE LAST 13 YEARS, WE HAVE DISTRIBUTED 9.3 MILLION DIAPERS AND COUNTING. WE NOW SERVE EIGHT COUNTIES IN WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. THEY ARE ALLEGHENY, BEAVER, CAMBRIA, FAYETTE, GREENE, INDIANA, WASHINGTON, AND WESTMORELAND COUNTIES. WE ALSO DISTRIBUTE BABY HYGIENE, PERIOD PRODUCTS, AND INCONTINENCE. ALL BASIC NECESSITIES NOT COVERED BY GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE. EVERYONE DESERVES BASIC NEEDS!
