LAUNCHED ATHENS COUNTY CARES - A TWICE WEEKLY HALF HOUR RADIO PROGRAM BROADCAST ON A LOCAL AM STATION TO DISCUSS RESOURCES AND PROGRAMS AVAILABLE FOR SENIORS. THE PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTED SENIOR RESOURCES WITH A SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON CARE FOR DEMENTIA AND CAREGIVER RESOURCES. THE RADIO PROGRAM WORKS IN CORRELATION WITH OUR CARE CONSULTATION AND DEMENTIA FRIENDS PROGRAMMING. TOTAL PROGRAM SERVICES
OFFERED WELLNESS CHECKS AND TELEPHONIC INFORMATION SHARING TO PARTICIPANTS. WITH REDUCED IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES AND LOCAL MEDIA CHANGING FROM DAILY DISTRIBUTION OF NEWSPAPERS TO EVERY OTHER DAY AND LESS INCLUSION OF LOCAL INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION TO THE SENIORS HAS DECREASED.
