THE MARION COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING IS COMMITTED TO IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR OLDER ADULTS IN MARION COUNTY, THROUGH THE PROVISION OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT PROMOTE INDEPENDENT LIVING.

IN-HOME CARE SERVICES: IN 2020, THE COUNCIL ON AGING PROVIDED THE FUNDING FOR NEARLY 8,386 HOURS OF IN-HOME CARE SERVICES TO 132 MARION COUNTY OLDER ADULTS. IN MOST CASES, THESE SERVICES WERE ALL THAT KEPT THESE CLIENTS LIVING INDEPENDENTLY IN THEIR OWN HOMES. IN-HOME CARE SERVICES INCLUDE LIGHT HOUSEKEEPING; PERSONAL CARE SUCH AS BATHING, DRESSING, MOBILITY; AND ESSENTIAL SHOPPING ASSISTANCE FOR GROCERIES AND PRESCRIPTIONS.
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES: ESSENTIAL LOCAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, AS WELL AS MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION TO THE COLUMBUS AREA, WAS PROVIDED TO 259 SENIORS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS, FOR A TOTAL OF 3,732 ONE-WAY TRIPS.
HOME-DELIVERED MEALS: 27,218 MEALS WERE DELIVERED, PROVIDING NOT ONLY GOOD NUTRITION, BUT ALSO A DAILY CHECK FOR WELL-BEING FOR 168 SENIOR CLIENTS.
