MYOSITIS WORKING GROUP - THE OMERACT MYOSITIS WORKING GROUP IS AN INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION OF WELL-KNOWN CLINICAL RESEARCHERS, PATIENTS, AND STATISTICIANS. THE AIM OF THE WORKING GROUP IS TO DEVELOP OUTCOME MEASURES BASED ON PATIENTS' EXPERIENCES AND TO VALIDATE THESE MEASURES THOROUGHLY TO USE IN CLINICAL TRIALS.


INTERNATIONAL RHEUMATOLOGY COLLEAGUES DINNER - INITIATED IN 2000, THE IRC DINNER PROVIDES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR RHEUMATOLOGISTS TO BECOME UPDATED ON CURRENT CLINICAL RESEARCH ACTIVITIES. GIVEN THE RANGE OF RHEUMATOLOGIC DISORDERS, AND THE EVER-INCREASING NUMBER OF DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES AND TREATMENT OPTIONS, IT IS IMPORTANT TO PROVIDE CLINICIANS WITH INFORMATION TO UTILIZE THE MOST EFFECTIVE TREATMENTS TO ENSURE OPTIMAL PATIENT OUTCOMES. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT FOR CLINICIANS AND RESEARCHERS TO ENHANCE THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF RESEARCH CURRENTLY BEING CONDUCTED AND THE BREAKTHROUGHS IN UNDERSTANDING THE UNDERLYING PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF VARIOUS RHEUMATIC DISEASES WHICH MAY LEAD TO THE AVAILABILITY OF NEW TARGETED THERAPIES.


PROACTIVE - INITIATING AND SUPPORTING A PUBLIC PRIVATE, PRE-COMPETITIVE COLLABORATION AMONG A BROAD SPECTRUM OF STAKEHOLDERS, INCLUDING ACADEMIA, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, INDUSTRY, PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS, AND PATIENT ORGANIZATIONS WITH THE GOAL OF SHARING DATA AND INNOVATIVE THINKING ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT OF OSTEOARTHRITIS (OA) OUTCOME MEASURES FOR CLINICAL TRIALS OF THERAPIES AIMED AT SLOWING OA PROGRESSION.THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION APPROVED PROACTIVE'S APPLICATION SEEKING PARTICIPATION BY INDIVIDUALS FROM THE CENTER FOR DRUG EVALUATION AND RESEARCH (CDER) TO ENGAGE IN THE ACTIVITIES OF THE CONSORTIUM.
