THE MISSION OF THE BARUCH S. BLUMBERG INSTITUTE IS TO USE DISCOVERY SCIENCE TO FIND NEW THERAPIES FOR VIRAL HEPATITIS AND LIVER CANCER; TO ADVANCE ITS RESEARCH DISCOVERIES THROUGH TRADITIONAL SCHOLARSHIP AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES; TO NURTURE BIOTECHNOLOGY AND TO PROMOTE PUBLIC HEALTH OUTREACH PROGRAMS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY VIRAL HEPATITIS.

RESEARCH - TO DISCOVER AND/OR ASSIST IN THE DISCOVERY OF THERAPEUTICS, DIAGNOSTICS, AND PATHOGENESIS OF MEDICALLY IMPORTANT DISEASES IN GENERAL AND VIRAL HEPATITIS AND RELATED DISEASES IN PARTICULAR.


ACADEMIC - THE BARUCH S. BLUMBERG INSTITUTE HAS PARTNERED WITH SCHOOLS AND HIGHER EDUCATION AND OTHER AGENCIES TO BRING ACADEMIC PROGRAMMING TO THE BIOTECHNOLOGY CENTER.


B. LABS AT CIRA CENTER - BEGINNING IN JANUARY 2022, BSBI REPLICATED ITS SUCCESSFUL LIFE SCIENCES INCUBATOR MODEL BY PARTNERING WITH BRANDYWINE REALTY TRUST INCLUDING THE MANAGEMENT OF OPERATIONS, PROVIDING OF SERVICES AND RECRUITMENT OF COMPANIES FOR THE INCUBATOR.


PUBLIC HEALTH OUTREACH AND TRAINING - TO PROMOTE AWARENESS OF LIVER DISEASES AND CHRONIC DISEASES; TO PROMOTE EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN THE AREA OF LIVER DISEASE ALONG WITH DISCOVERY RESEARCH AND PUBLIC HEALTH.
