THIS FUNDING PRIMARILY SUPPORTED THE WORK OF THE DESCHUTES COLLABORATIVE FOREST PROJECT DCFP SUBCOMMITTEES INCLUDING RESTORATION PLANNING MONITORING OUTREACH AND PRESCRIBED FIRE. THE RESTORATION PLANNING SUBCOMMITTEE WORKED TO PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE US FOREST SERVICE RELATED TO DRY AND MOIST MIXED CONIFER AND WILDLIFE HABITAT. THE MONITORING SUBCOMMITTEE HOSTED MULTI-PARTY MONITORING TO FOREST RESTORATION PROJECTS. THE OUTREACH COMMITTEE WORKED TO SPREAD IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ECOLOGICAL AND HUMAN BENEFITS OF FOREST WHILE THE PRESCRIBED FIRE SUBCOMMITTEE BEGAN WORKING ON EXPLORING WAYS TO EXPAND THE USE OF PRESCRIBED FIRE ON LANDSCAPE.
THIS FUNDING SUPPORTED EFFECTIVE STAFFING AND COORDINATION FOR THE OCHOCO FOREST RESTORATION COLLABORATIVE OFRC. WORK HAS FOCUSED ON: INCREASING COLLABORATIVE AGREEMENT ABOUT WHERE AND HOW RESTORATION SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED AND DEVELOPING PROCESSES FOR MULTI-PARTY MONITORING AND REPORTING FOR TRUST LEARNING AND ACCOUNTABILITY.
DIVERSITY EQUITY AND INCLUSION PROGRAM VIRTUALLY GATHERED PARTICIPANTS FROM SIX CENTRAL AND EASTERN OREGON FOREST RESTORATION COLLABORATIVES FOR FOUR 4 FOUR-HOUR WORKSHOPS FOCUSED ON DEFINING DEI IN A RURAL GEOGRAPHY AMONG GROUPS WHOSE MISSION IS TO SUPPORT FOREST RESTORATION MANAGEMENT AND THEN EXAMINE THE WAYS IN WHICH THOSE GROUPS CAN FORWARD DEI ISSUES. STEEP SLOPE PLANNING PROJECT THROUGH A REVIEW OF PERTINENT SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS FOLLOWED BY A SERIES OF IN-DEPTH PRESENTATIONS DEFINED AND INVESTIGATED THE ISSUES TO BE RESOLVED WHEN PLANNING FOREST RESTORATION ON STEEP SLOPES DEVELOPING A COMPREHENSIVE TEMPLATE UPON WHICH STEEP SLOPE MANAGEMENT PROJECTS CAN BE DEVELOPED.
