CADTP HOLDS SEMI-ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL FORUMS, OPEN TO BOTH MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS. THE FORUMS HAVE EVOLVED TO INCLUDE ISSUES THAT ADDRESS BOTH THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONCERNS OF DUI PROGRAM OPERATORS AND STAFF MEMBERS.
CADTP IS ONE OF THE ORGANIZATIONS RECOGNIZED BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CERTIFY INDIVIDUALS AS ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUG COUNSELORS. CADTP HAS CERTIFIED, RENEWED AND/OR REGISTERED 3,100 COUNSELORS IN 2019.
IN CONJUNCTION WITH CERTIFICATION,CADTP MUST APPROVE CONTINUING EDUCATION PROVIDERS FOR ITS REGISTERED AND CERTIFIED COUNSELORS. THERE IS A FEE FOR THE APPROVAL PROCESS. CADTP ALSO PROVIDES SPECIALTY TRAININGS TO MEMBERS AS WELL AS OTHER STAKEHOLDERS. CADTP PROVIDES ITS' MEMBERS WITH A GROUP LEGAL PLAN WITH A LAWYER WHO IS VERSED IN DUI PROGRAM REGULATIONS. CADTP COLLECTS THE QUARTERLY FEE FROM THE DUI PROGRAMS AND RETAINS THE LAWYER FOR THOSE DUI PROGRAMS AT A GROUP RATE USING THOSE FEES.
