THE MISSION OF MUSYCA CHILDREN'S CHOIR IS TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF MUSIC EDUCATION TO CHILDREN AND YOUTH OF ALL RELIGIOUS ETHNIC CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC BACKGROUNDS THROUGH STUDY AND PERFORMANCE OF OUTSTANDING CHORAL REPERTOIRE. MUSYCA IS DEDICATED TO DIVERSITY ACCESS AND SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY. OUR COMMUNITY FACES THE POVERTY AND HARDSHIP ON A DAILY BASIS. MOST OF THE FAMILIES SERVED BY OUR ORGANIZATION ARE FIRST OR SECOND GENERATION IMMIGRANTS WHO CAME TO THE US TO ESCAPE RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION. THEY CAME TO THIS COUNTRY WITHOUT ANY MEANS FOR SURVIVAL WITHOUT SAVINGS AND WITH NO ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS. THE MAJORITY OF THE STUDENTS COME FROM THE LOW-INCOME FAMILIES AND ATTEND TITLE I PUBLIC SCHOOLS. MUSYCA IS THE ONLY MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAM AVAILABLE TO THEM. MUSYCA WORK TIRELESSLY TO PROVIDE A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR THE CHILDREN THROUGH ARTS EDUCATION PROVIDE THEM WITH OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEADERSHIP AND GROWTH AND ASSIST THE NEEDY FAMILIES. OUR GRADUATES ARE ACCEPTED LEADING COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES AND EMBARK ON FRUITFUL FULFILLING CAREERS UPON GRADUATION. THE CHOIR ACTIVITIES PERFORMANCE AND RECORDINGS GREATLY CONTRIBUTE TO THE CULTURAL LIFE OF OUR THRIVING VIBRANT COMMUNITY. OUR ORGANIZATION BECAME ICONIC FOR OUR IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY AND WE SERVE OUR STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES AS WELL AS OUR AUDIENCE MEMBERS WHERE THEY LIVE. BEFORE THE PANDEMIC WE EXPANDED OUR SERVICES TO TWO CONVENIENT LOCATIONS ACROSS THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY. DURING COVID-19 WE TRANSFERRED OUR PROGRAMS ONLINE WITH EASY ACCESS FOR ALL. OUR FACULTY CONTINUES TO TEACH IN-PERSON AND ONLINE TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE HAS AN EQUAL ACCESS TO THE PROGRAM.
