CLIMATE RIDE IS A 501(C)(3) NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT MOBILIZES PEOPLE TO PROTECT OUR PLANET THROUGH LIFE-CHANGING ADVENTURES. WE ORGANIZE CHARITABLE BIKING, RUNNING, AND HIKING EVENTS TO RAISE AWARENESS AND SUPPORT SUSTAINABILITY, ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION, AND ENVIRONMENTAL CAUSES.

CLIMATE RIDE'S PROGRAMS BRING PEOPLE AND NONPROFITS TOGETHER TO INSPIRE ACTION AND MAKE PROTECTING THE PLANET A PHILANTHROPIC PRIORITY FOR EVERYONE. CLIMATE RIDE PLANS, IMPLEMENTS, AND SUPPORTS OUTDOOR ADVENTURE EVENTS AROUND THE US AND THE WORLD. IT SUPPORTS PARTICIPANTS TO DO OUTREACH AND RAISE FUNDS FOR GRANTS (SEE BELOW). CLIMATE RIDE PROGRAMMATIC EXPENSES INCLUDE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION, OUTREACH, AND PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS THAT INCREASE DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION.
WITH THE CONTINUATION OF THE COVID PANDEMIC IN 2021, CLIMATE RIDE HAD LOWER PARTICIPATION IN ITS EVENTS WHICH LED TO LOWER REVENUE AND OVERALL GRANDS THAT WOULD BE EXPECTED IN A NORMAL YEAR. CONTRIBUTIONS RAISED BY PARTICIPANTS IN CLIMATE RIDE'S BIKE RIDES, HIKES, AND OTHER EVENTS ARE DONATED TO DOZENS OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES THAT PRIMARILY DO WORK IN THE AREAS OF ENVIRONMENT, CLIMATE CHANGE, CLEAN ENERGY, ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION, AND SUSTAINABILITY. CLIMATE RIDE MAKES ITS GROWTH FUND THE SOLE DESIGNATED BENEFICIARY OF CERTAIN "FUNDER" EVENTS AND IS LISTED AS ONE OF THE BENEFICIARIES FROM WHICH PARTICIPANTS CAN CHOOSE TO FUNDRAISE FOR DURING THE YEAR. THE FUND IS USED TO SUSTAIN PROGRAMMING AND PROMOTE ITS LONG-TERM STABILITY, FUND SCHOLARSHIPS, AND ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE ACTION GRANTS. CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE GROWTH FUND, WHICH TOTALED $225,612.80 IN 2021, ARE RECORDED SOLELY AS REVENUES AND NOT INCLUDED IN GRANTS.
