OUR MISSION IS TO REAWAKEN OUR CONNECTION TO WILDLIFE AND NATURE THROUGH RECONNECTION ECOLOGY, EXPANDING OUR SENSE OF COMMUNITY TO INCLUDE ALL LIVING BEINGS, AND TO PROTECT THRIVING HABITAT FOR ALL LIFE.

EARTHFIRE INSTITUTE PROVIDED CARE FOR RESCUED NATIVE WILDLIFE BY PROVIDING SHELTER, FOOD, WATER, AND VETERINARIAN CARE FOR 33 WILD ANIMALS, 365 DAYS OF THE YEAR UNDER LICENSE OF THE USDA AND IDAHO STATE FISH AND GAME. EARTHFIRE ALSO PERFORMED MAINTENANCE OF STRUCTURES FOR BEARS, WOLVES, BISON, COYOTES, FOXES, BIRDS AND COUGARS; WORKED TO IMPROVE HABITAT; MONITORED THEIR HEALTH AND UPDATED NUTRITIONAL CARE BASED ON LATEST RESEARCH; AND PROVIDED WILDLIFE REHABILITATION SERVICES FOR THE STATE OF IDAHO.


EARTHFIRE INSTITUTE IMPROVED AND INCREASED WEB FUNCTIONALITY, SOCIAL MEDIA, WRITTEN EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH, AND INFORMATIONAL PRINT MEDIA ADVERTISING. EARTHFIRE SENT OUT 4,000+ NEWSLETTERS EVERY MONTH AND 1,000 SEMI-ANNUAL HARD COPY NEWSLETTERS. EIGHT EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS ABOUT OUR WORK WERE PROVIDED TO NATIONAL AND GLOBAL AUDIENCES VIA ONLINE ORGANIZATIONS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO DESIGNED AND DISTRIBUTED INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE HABITAT TO 200 LOCAL PROPERTY OWNERS.


EARTHFIRE INSTITUTE EXPANDED PUBLIC ACCESS TO THEIR LOCATION BY LEADING 1-2 HOUR GUIDED VISITS FOCUSED ON CONSERVATION, EDUCATION, AND WILD ANIMALS. EARTHFIRE HOSTED ARTISTS, FILMMAKERS, AND PHOTOGRAPHERS TO ASSIST WITH CONSERVATION EFFORTS VIA ART, DOCUMENTARIES, AND OTHER PROJECTS. COLLABORATIONS WITH YELLOWSTONE WERE FORMALIZED THROUGH THE YUKON CONSERVATION INITIATIVE AND 1% FOR THE PLANET ORGANIZATIONS. THIS FURTHER SHARED THE MISSION AND TRADEMARKED A NEW CONSERVATION APPROACH: "RECONNECTION ECOLOGY."
