Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE COLLEGE OF WESTERN IDAHO FOUNDATION RAISED AND MANAGED SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS, PROGRAM SUPPORT, AND PRIVATE RESOURCES FOR THE COLLEGE OF WESTERN IDAHO STUDENTS AND PROGRAMS WHICH SUPPORT THE MISSION AND PRIORITIES OF THE COLLEGE. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2021, THE FOUNDATION PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS TO THE COLLEGE OF WESTERN IDAHO, WHO IN TURN PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIPS TO 376 STUDENTS TOTALING $499,341. THE FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDED PROGRAM SUPPORT TOTALING $247,566 TO THE COLLEGE OF WESTERN IDAHO.(CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)(CONTINUED FROM FORM 990, PART III, LINE 4A) THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC HAD AN EFFECT ON THE FOUNDATION'S ABILITY TO CONNECT WITH OUR DONORS AND RAISE FUNDS. DUE TO SHUT DOWN PROCEDURES, THE FOUNDATION LOST THE ABILITY TO MEET DONORS AND POTENTIAL DONORS IN PERSON, WHICH IS ESSENTIAL TO MAINTAINING AND BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS. OUR FUNDRAISING EVENTS WERE EITHER CANCELLED OR MOVED TO A VIRTUAL FORMAT. THIS TRANSLATED INTO LOWER FUNDS RAISED FOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS. WHILE WE WERE ABLE TO SECURE NEW SCHOLARSHIP AGREEMENTS DURING THE PANDEMIC, THOSE WERE FEWER AND BASED ON THE DONORS SEEKING OUT CWI AND THE FOUNDATION. OUR ABILITY TO BE PRESENT IN THE COMMUNITY WOULD HAVE FOSTERED NEW RELATIONS, EQUALING MORE DONATIONS TO STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS. THE PAST YEAR DID TEACH US HOW TO ADAPT TO A DIFFERENT FUNDRAISING FORMAT SO WHILE OVERALL WE EXPERIENCED A DECREASE IN SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS RAISED, WE FIGURED OUT NEW TOOLS TO ADD TO OUR FUNDRAISING STRATEGIES IN THE FUTURE.
