THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE SEATTLE TIMES FUND FOR THE NEEDY IS TO DISTRIBUTE FUNDS TO ORGANIZATIONS, EXEMPT UNDER SECTION 501 (C) (3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE, FOR THE ORGANIZATIONS' USE IN AIDING NEEDY FAMILIES AND/OR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE MEMBERS OF THE SEATTLE COMMUNITY.

THE SEATTLE TIMES FUND FOR THE NEEDY COLLECTS CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN THE SEATTLE AREA THROUGH AN ANNUAL CAMPAIGN. IT THEN ALLOCATES AND DISTRIBUTES THESE FUNDS TO WORTHY ORGANIZATIONS FOR THEIR USE IN AIDING NEEDY FAMILIES AND NEEDY INDIVIDUALS WITHIN THE SEATTLE COMMUNITY.
