DURING THE CHORALE'S 30TH SEASON WE WERE FINALLY RECOVERING FROM THE IMPACTS OF THE COVID PANDEMIC. REHEARSALS WERE HELD AT REFORMATION LUTHERAN CHURCH WITH ZOOM AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WHO COULDN'T ATTEND IN-PERSON. ONE RETREAT WAS HELD AT FT. WARD'S OUTDOOR AMPHITHEATER. ALL PERFORMANCES THIS SEASON WERE PAY WHAT YOU CAN AND AVAILABLE ONLINE. IN DECEMBER WE PERFORMED UNCEASING SONG, A CONCERT EXPRESSING THEMES OF THE MAGNIFICAT THROUGH THE CENTURIES. WE ALSO HONORED UKRAINIAN FRIENDS WITH THEIR TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS CAROLS. OUR RECORDING OF NO LA DEBEMOS DORMIR WAS AIRED ON WETA'S SONGS OF THE SEASON BROADCAST. OUR MARCH CONCERT WAS ENTIRELY UKRAINIAN MUSIC, TO THE DELIGHT OF MANY IN OUR AUDIENCE WHO LONGED FOR HOME DURING THE ONGOING CONFLICT. OUR GUEST CONDUCTOR, RUSLAN BONDAR, LED US IN THE PRAYER FOR UKRAINE. IN JUNE OUR PROGRAM FOCUSED ON COMPOSITIONS OF OUR COMPOSER IN RESIDENCE, KEVIN SIEGFRIED. WE REPRIZED HIS BEAUTIFUL CANTATA, CHILD OF EARTH ALONG WITH SEVERAL NEW PIECES. THROUGHOUT THE SEASON, 100 OR MORE SINGERS PARTICIPATED IN EACH OF THESE CONCERTS. NEARLY 1,300 TICKETS WERE SOLD DURING THE SEASON, INCLUDING MANY FOR HOUSEHOLDS THAT CONTINUED TO ENJOY STREAMED CONCERTS. SOCIAL ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT OUR SINGERS INCLUDED HOLIDAY AND YEAR-END PARTIES AND SPECIAL INTEREST ACTIVITIES. OUR USUAL COMMUNITY SINGING RESUMED WITH HOLIDAY CAROLING AT EASTERN MARKET AND OTHER SMALL EVENTS.
