VCC SERVED 64 STUDENTS DURING THE 2021-22 SEASON, WHICH WAS OUR 30TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON. OUR INSTRUCTION RETURNED TO IN-PERSON FOR THE FULL SEASON WITH THE EXCEPTION OF 4 WEEKS IN MID-JANUARY TO MID-FEBRUARY WHEN WE HAD ONLINE CLASSES. WE HAD A FULL SEASON OF PERFORMANCES INCLUDING THE OPERETTA BRUNDIBAR WITH CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT UNIVERSITY, CONCERTS WITH SYMPHONICITY AND THE VIRGINIA ARTS FESTIVAL'S INTERNATIONAL TATTOO. OUR OWN PRODUCTIONS INCLUDED HARVEST OF SONG, THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY MINSTRELS OF SPRING AND AN ALUMNI CONCERT MY OWN SONG. WE SUCCESSFULLY WENT THROUGH THE SEARCH PROCESS FOR A NEW ARTISTIC DIRECTOR TO REPLACE CAROL DOWNING, WHO RETIRED IN JUNE 2022 AFTER 30 YEARS SINCE SHE FOUNDED THE CHORUS. CORBIN PINTO WAS NAME AS THE NEW ARTISTIC DIRECTOR IN JUNE 2022. WE PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIPS TO 10 OF OUR STUDENTS OR 15% OF THE ENROLLMENT. THE SCHOLARSHIP TOTALED $6490 AND RANGED FROM 25% TO 75% OF THE FULL TUITION.
