CONCERT SERIES, EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS:THE WASHINGTON CHORUS MADE ITS RETURN TO IN-PERSON PERFORMANCES IN ITS 61ST SEASON, UNDER THE BATON OF ARTISTIC DIRECTOR DR. EUGENE ROGERS. IN DECEMBER 2021, THE CHORUS MARKED SEVERAL IMPORTANT OCCASIONS IN ITS CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCES, INCLUDING DR. EUGENE ROGERS' FIRST IN-PERSON PERFORMANCE WITH THE CHORUS SINCE HIS APPOINTMENT AS ARTISTIC DIRECTOR IN 2020. AFTER 548 DAYS HAVING NOT PRESENTED A PERFORMANCE IN PERSON (THE PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN BEGAN TWO DAYS BEFORE ITS MARCH 2020 PLANNED PERFORMANCE), THE CHORUS WAS THRILLED TO ONCE AGAIN SING FOR A LIVE AND ENTHUSIASTIC AUDIENCE, WITH OVER 8,500 TICKET BUYERS.
