KHSI PROMOTES STRONG, CULTURALLY RELEVANT, COMMUNITY-BASED HUMAN SERVICE SYSTEMS AND EQUAL RIGHTS FOR CHILDREN, ADULTS, AND FAMILIES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD SO THAT ALL PEOPLE CAN FILL CULTURALLY VALUED ROLES AND HAVE EQUAL ACCESS TO ALL SOCIETY HAS TO OFFER.

INDIA: KHSI IS WORKING IN INDIA TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY AND ENERGIZE A GROWING NATIONAL MOVEMENT TOWARD A MORE JUST AND INCLUSIVE INDIAN SOCIETY WHERE ALL PEOPLE ARE VALUED AND BELONG. THE KEYSTONE INSTITUTE INDIA PROGRAM PROVIDES EXTENSIVE CONSULTATION AND EDUCATION AROUND DEVELOPING RESPONSIVE, EFFECTIVE, AND INCLUSIVE SUPPORTS FOR PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENT AND PSYCHOSOCIAL DISABILITY AND THEIR FAMILIES. WITH FUNDING SUPPORT FROM THE RURAL INDIA SUPPORTING TRUST (RIST), AND WITH PARTNERSHIP OF GOVERNMENT, NONGOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS, AND CIVIL SOCIETY LEADERS ACROSS INDIA, KEYSTONE IS WORKING TO DEVELOP AN INCLUSIVE SOCIETY, WHERE ALL PEOPLE BELONG AND ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL THE COMMUNITY HAS TO OFFER. THIS IS FURTHERED BY SEVERAL ACTIVE DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS FOCUSED ON DEINSTITUTIONALIZATION, INCLUSIVE LIVELIHOODS, AND CAPACITATING THE SOCIAL SERVICES WORKFORCE.
MOLDOVA:KHSI MOLDOVA ASSOCIATION (KEYSTONE MOLDOVA) IS A NONGOVERNMENTAL PUBLIC INSTITUTION, FOUNDED BY KEYSTONE HUMAN SERVICES INTERNATIONAL. KEYSTONE MOLDOVA HAS A STRONG HISTORY OF PROMOTING HUMAN AND DISABILITY RIGHTS, WORKING TOWARD INCLUSION, AND ESTABLISHING COMMUNITY-BASED SYSTEMS OF SOCIAL CARE SERVICES THROUGHOUT THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA. PARTNERING WITH NATIONAL AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AND ADVOCATES, KEYSTONE MOLDOVA WORKS TO REFORM THE SOCIAL PROTECTION SYSTEM AND DEVELOP SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES SO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY CAN LEAVE THE INSTITUTIONS AND LIVE VALUED LIVES IN THE COMMUNITY WITH FULL ACCESS TO THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS. TAKING A RIGHTS-BASED APPROACH, KEYSTONE MOLDOVA PROMOTES INCLUSION, BUILDS SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY-BASED SUPPORT SYSTEMS, AND ADVOCATES ALONGSIDE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY. THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH DONORS INCLUDING THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, IM SWEDISH DEVELOPMENT PARTNER, SOROS FOUNDATION MOLDOVA, KONRAD-ADENAUER-STIFTUNG, PEOPLE IN NEED, CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES, AND THE AUSTRIAN DEVELOPMENT AGENCY, KEYSTONE MOLDOVA SUPPORTS: (I) THE DEINSTITUTIONALIZATION AND INCLUSION IN MAINSTREAM COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY, CHILDREN WITH EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT NEEDS, AND THOSE AT RISK; (II) THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNITY-BASED ALTERNATIVE SOCIAL CARE SERVICES, SUCH AS FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES, FOSTER CARE, MOBILE TEAMS, SHARED LIVING, RESPITE CARE, SUPPORTED LIVING, AND COMMUNITY HOMES, (III) THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEGAL FRAMEWORKS TO ENSURE THE SUSTAINABILITY OF REFORMS IN SOCIAL PROTECTION AND SOCIAL ASSISTANCE OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY; (IV) ACTIVITIES TO PREVENT AND END DISCRIMINATION. KEYSTONE HUMAN SERVICES INTERNATIONAL (KHSI) ADMINISTRATION & OTHER INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVES:KHS INTERNATIONAL (KHSI) DESIGNS AND IMPLEMENTS CULTURALLY RELEVANT COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES AND SERVICE SYSTEMS THAT PROMOTE FULL INCLUSION AND CULTURALLY VALUED ROLES.
