OUR MISSION WAS TO PROVIDE A THERAPUTIC, CONSISTENT, CARING AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR ADOLESCENTS WHO THUS FAR HAVE NOT BEEN MANAGEABLE IN THE COMMUNITY, BY PROVIDING SOCAIL SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ENABLING THEM TO BECOME AUTONOMOUS, PRODUCTIVE INDIVIDUALS IN SOCIETY. OUR UPDATED MISSIONIS TO STUDY THE PURPOSES, METHODS AND EFFECTS OF CONGREGATE AND TREATMENT PROGRAMS FOR ADOLESCENTS, AND TO MAKE THAT INFORMATION FREELY AVAILABLE TO ALL INTERESTED PARTIES AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

HOW DO PROGRAMS LIKE OURS WORK? ARE THEY USEFUL OR HARMFUL? ARE THEY EFFECTIVE ENOUGH TO JUSTIFY THE COSTS? THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS WE NOW SEEK TO ANSWER, USING OUR THREE DECADES OF EXPERIENCE IN OPERATING PROGRAMS AS THE BASIS FOR DEFINING AND EVALUATING A PROGRAM MODEL THAT ADDRESSES THE NEEDS OF VERY SERIOUSLY DEPRIVED AND IMPAIRED ADOLESCENTS FOR WHOM LONG-TERM CARE APPEARS TO BE THE ONLY PRACTICAL SAFE AND EFFECTIVE APPROACH.
