PROVIDE SERVICES TO MEET THE NEEDS OF SENIOR CITIZENS OF JEFFERSON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

VARIOUS ELDERLY SERVICES ARE PROVIDED INCLUDING THE OPERATION OF SEVERAL SENIOR CENTERS. APPROXIMATELY 160 CONSUMERS RECEIVE A NUTRITIOUS MEAL 5 DAY A WEEK. THESE MEALS MEET 1/3 OF THE RECOMMENDED DAILY ALLOWANCE. HOME DELIVERED MEALS PROVIDE CONSUMERS WITH A HEALTHY CHOICE OF FOODS TO HELP MEET THEIR NUTRITIOUS NEEDS. THESE MEALS HELP THOSE WHO ARE UNABLE TO VISIT THE SENIOR CENTERS DUE TO THEIR LIMITED PHYSICAL OR MENTAL ACTIVITIES.
THE OPTIONS PROGRAM PROVIDES AGING STATE RESIDENTS WITH CARE SERVICES IN THEIR HOMES SUCH AS PERSONAL CARE, HOME HEALTH AND HOME DELIVERED MEALS. ASSISTANCE IS ALSO PROVIDED TO FAMILY CARING FOR A LOVED ONE AT HOME SUCH AS ADULT DAY CARE, RESPITE CARE AND TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE.
APPROXIMATELY 100 NURSING HOME ELIGIBLE CONSUMERS ARE SERVED EACH MONTH. THIS GROUP OF CONSUMERS RECEIVE IN HOME SERVICES SUCH AS HOME HEALTH, PERSONAL CARE, HOME MODIFICATIONS AND HOME DELIVERED MEALS. THIS PROGRAM ALLOWS CONSUMERS TO REMAIN IN THEIR OWN HOME RATHER THAN GOING TO A NURSING HOME. CONSUMER'S ARE ABLE TO ENJOY THEIR FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
