LEARNING CENTER - TUTORING BY CREDENTIALED TEACHERS AND TUTORS WITH A MATH OR SCIENCE RELATED DEGREE AT REDUCED RATES TO CHILDREN 6-18 YEARS OF AGE TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR MAXIMUM DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR LEARNING POTENTIAL. AN AVERAGE OF 29 STUDENTS PER WEEK WERE ASSISTED. THE RANGE FOR TUTORING, INCLUDING SAT CLASSES, IS +-100.
OPERATION SCHOOL BELL - HAS PROVIDED SCHOOL UNIFORMS, JACKETS, SHOES AND OTHER CLOTHING ITEMS TO 834 CHILDREN THROUGH 12TH GRADE.
ASSAULT SURVIVOR KITS - KITS ARE PROVIDED TO LOCAL HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOMS AND CRISIS CENTERS. THEY CONTAIN CLOTHING AND PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS FOR SURVIVORS OF RAPE OR ASSAULT. THE CHAPTER SERVED 162 INDIVIDUALS THIS YEAR.
COMMUNITY SERVICES - THE CHAPTER PROVIDES GOOD QUALITY USED CLOTHING, NEW PERSONAL CARE ITEMS, AND HOLIDAY FOOD BASKETS TO MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHO ARE IN NEED OR CRISIS. THESE CLIENTS ARE REFERRED BY CONTRACTED SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES THAT SERVE THE LOCAL COMMUNTY. IN ADDITION, BEARS ARE DISTRIBUTED TO THOSE IN NEED THROUGH THE LOCAL POLICE AND FIRE STATIONS AS WELL AS HOSPITALS. THE CHAPTER SERVED 799 INDIVIDUALS THIS YEAR.
